JHARKHAND

Jharkhand is an eastern Indian state known for its rich mineral resources, dense forests, and tribal heritage. Carved out of Bihar in the year 2000, Jharkhand plays a vital role in India’s mining and industrial sectors, being one of the leading producers of coal, iron ore, mica, and uranium. The state’s landscape is marked by hills, plateaus, rivers, and scenic waterfalls such as Hundru and Dassam, giving it significant natural beauty. Ranchi, the capital city, is often called the “City of Waterfalls” and serves as the administrative and cultural hub of the state.

Jharkhand is culturally diverse, with a large population of indigenous tribal communities including the Santhal, Munda, Oraon, and Ho tribes, each with their own traditions, festivals, and languages. Agriculture remains a primary livelihood for many, with crops like rice, maize, and pulses widely cultivated.
